UCPlacements
During my time as Experience Designer at the University of Canterbury, I was tasked with enhancing the user experience of UCPlacements, a Work-Integrated Learning platform. The platform allows students to navigate various tasks, such as selecting course placements, uploading documents and logging timesheet hours.
Objective:
My initial focus involved configuring the platform's UI to align seamlessly with the UC digital branding. However, as we delved deeper, it became evident that many of the default user journeys lacked intuitiveness. Collaborating closely with the Business Analyst, Tester, and Developer, I embarked on a comprehensive effort to improve the overall user experience, enhancing the aesthetic of the platform and ensuring tasks were easier to navigate by being more intuitive for users.
User Testing:
To pinpoint potential pain points and refine the user experience, I championed a user testing initiative with a group of participants. This involved crafting detailed user testing specifications, research protocols, and scripts for in-person testing sessions. Subsequently, I synthesised the findings and documented key improvements to address identified issues. This project underscores my commitment to optimising digital interfaces through iterative design and user-focused enhancements.
